Five Stones Builders was founded by Brian and Kim Zickefoose — but the conviction behind it was forged long before the company.
Brian came home from multiple wartime deployments carrying more than memories: heavy-metal and environmental toxin exposure that took years to understand and undo. Kim has fought her own version of the same battle most of us face — heavy metals, microplastics, and mold, and the toll they take on the body.
So, they did the work. Both are lifelong athletes who have trained for decades, and both have studied wellness across the three dimensions Scripture treats as one — body, mind, and spirit. What they learned changed how they see every space: the building around you is either supporting your health or quietly working against it.
That conviction is the standard Five Stones builds to — healthy materials, cleaner air and water, and environments designed to restore the people inside them, delivered with the integrity, discipline, and stewardship of a partner who treats your project as their own. OUR STORY
Our name comes from the account of David in 1 Samuel 17 — five smooth stones chosen from a brook before facing a giant. In Scripture, five is the number of grace: unmerited favor. The stones are a picture of readiness, faith, and quiet preparation in the shepherd's field long before the public victory. They represent unconventional creativity for facing giants, and the stewardship of using what's already in your hand while trusting God for what's ahead.
For us, the five stones are also our family — our marriage and our three children, each capable of carrying a legacy forward with courage and confidence in God. We face adversity head-on and fight for the best possible outcome on every project. Build your own future with Five Stones.
